Still Waiting

Unfortunately, we were not selected for the December baby as mentioned in my last post. There really isn't anything coming up in the near future (as far as we know). Please keep us in your prayers as we wait (trying to be patient) to expand our family.

New Situation

There is a baby due in December. They are going to be looking at our book soon.

Active Again

We have completed our KY homestudy as of last Friday. Now, we are just waiting for that phone call that our baby is ready to come home.

Delayed

Since we moved to Kentucky, unfortunately we had to be taken off the list at Hope's Promise until we have our KY Homestudy completed. I spoke with an agency in Kentucky, and she told me that is should only take around 2 weeks. Hopefully, we won't miss out on any opportunities during that time!!

118 days but who's counting

Talked to the agency for my monthly check-in. They tell us that our book shows very well, but no matches. This month at least one of the mothers did not want any biological children in the family. One of these days I pray, we will find the perfect match.

Still Waiting

I just spoke with the agency yesterday. Our book had been looked at a few times last month, but it seems those birthmothers were looking at people that do not have any children already. The birthmother counselor that I spoke with says it is usually 50-50 on whether they want children in the family already. So we just continue to wait.

Update

Just thought I would let everyone know our status. I just talked to the agency today. Our book was shown 3 times last month. They are also showing it 2 times next week. Hopefully, we will get some good news soon.

Getting ready

I know that it has only been 22 days according to the counter, but we have been getting ready for the new baby to come into our home. We have bought the carseat, stroller, pack and play, and swing. I have a diaper bag packed just in case we would get a call at the last second. Waiting to be matched has been hard for Abby. Hopefully, we will get a call soon.

Homestudy Completed

Today, Jim, Abby and I finished our homestudy, so we are officially on the list of potential parents. Now is the hard part. WAITING!!!

Getting closer

We have scheduled our remaining homestudy meetings. We will be done with them in less than 2 weeks. We are scheduled to be put in the pool of candidates as of April 8th. They say they have quite a few birth mothers. We will hope that they are matched with us quickly.

1st meeting

Jim and I had our first meeting today, so this is officially starting the homestudy. The woman had never seen people complete the paperwork so fast. We received the paperwork last Wednesday and we turned it all in today including all required documentation (the autobiography was the toughest). Hopefully, the rest of the process will go as quickly.

First Step

We wanted to let everyone know that we have taken the first steps to start our adoption. We have turned in our paperwork to start the homestudy process. We think that we are going to proceed with a domestic infant adoption. Please keep us in your prayers while we try to add to our family.
